About Me and this trip:

HI to all!

I am living and working in Norway since 6 years now, since the beginning I was exploring norwegian beautiful landscapes, improving my photographic skills, my gear and my knowledge about the photography itself as well as scandinavian nature, culture and different shooting conditions.

On this workshops we will visit probably the most beautiful historical town in Norway - Røros. Original wooden architecture is perfect for urban exploration. Narrow streets, magical backyards, hundreds of motives and compositions to shoot.

Town is on the list of UNESCO's World Heritage.

In the town we can also visit Røros Musem in old Smelting House, take guided tour to underground world of Olav's Mine and also we can take a longer trip outside the town to explore interesting mining fields of Nordgruvefeltet with reminings of old copper mines with most famous - Christianus Sextus. Near Røros we will also visit Gamle Storwartz Mine.

Workshops will be focused on urban/architecture photography and landscape photography with some touristic elements if You prefer.

If You wan't to use 1 day - we will visit Røros town and one spot outside the town, becoause there won't be enough time to explore all the area. In 2 days trip, we will visit Røros and the mines outside the town. We will have accomodation in Røros or very close to town.

Hope to see You soon!

Difficulty level: 1 day trip can be long and tiring but easy and accesible for everyone. We will move from place to place by car. Walk around the town and mine area. Longest hike will take around 30 minutes one way to Christianus Sextus mine. This trip is also suitable for older people and children.

Word about clothing and conditions: Weather proof jackets can be always useful, good comfortable boots, best made of water proof material. Spare clothing we can keep in the car in case we will get wet or the weather will change during the day, which is normal thing in Norway. We will visit open areas of high plateau so there is almost always strong wind and lower temperature than in the town. Winter in R;ros can be extremely cold, -20 degree Celsius is nothing strange so keep this in mind when planning winter visit.

Photographic gear: Of course any photo camera with manual settings, full frame sensors are the best thanks to big tollerance for higher ISO speed. For urban exploration - wide lenses (14-18 mm focal length) are the best but all enses up to 200mm can be useful here. Tripod is always a must. From extra gear - polarizing filters and graduated filters are very helpful to balance the light in city conditions. Extra batteries and memory cards and of course, comfortable backpack to have Your hands free.
